Bruno has a lot of energy and plays/chases other dogs but doesn’t understand when the other dog does not want to play anymore. They will snap at him and he continues to engage in play, jumping and barking. He pins small dogs and tries to pick them up like a toy.
Bruno needs a family who is home often as he does not like to be alone, and who is very active. he has a lot of energy and so long as he is exercised properly he is very happy to sleep and relax at home.
He pulls HARD when walking on a leash and sees a cat or squirrel. The walker must be prepared for this and correct him consistently.
He loves to cuddle and will be in your lap as much as he is allowed. He is very sweet and needs this affection.
His home should have older children that want to play with him, no cats and preferably be outside of the city. He would do best with a lot of area to run in. He also barks loudly when alone, which my neighbours 200m up the street have commented on. This will likely subside when he becomes comfortable as I have noticed a decrease since having him. He needs to be trained on this, by leaving him alone for various time periods. The trainer recommended 10 minutes, then 60 minutes the next time, then 20 minutes… He also loves knuckle bones so leaving him with one when he is alone distracts his attention.
Bruno is an incredible dog who wants to be near his people all the time.
