Jillian ( aka "Jilly Bean") is a 9 month old boxer who is looking for a great home. She was surrendered to a shelter because her owners did not have enough time for her. When she first came to our home she was shy and lacked the characteristic boxer wiggle, she was underweight and had a skin condition, but what progress we've made. Her very small nubbin will wiggle like mad now and she is often the first to put her head in your lap for a snuggle, an extended snuggle if she has her way.
As Jillian is a young dog who has not had much direction so far, a training program with her new family is a must and she would like to find an active home with a family who likes to go for hikes or walks daily. She would probably do better in a home with another dog as she enjoys having another dog friend around. She is almost completely crate trained and is comfortable sleeping in her crate overnight and for periods during the day.
She gets along well with other dogs especially if the other dog is game for a boisterous romp and doesn’t mind a vocal playmate. She currently lives with two other dogs and three cats and is learning to be respectful of those kitty claws, although she finds it irresistible every now and again to try to play with them. Jillian Speaks: I've already had a few names in my young life but Jilly Bean is by far my favourite. My foster mom thinks I'd make great catch for someone as I'm a love bug of a puppy and still have lots of growing and learning to do. I'm looking for a home where I can be part of the family forever, to help me feel secure and to help me learn that no counter can be surfed, no shoe carried about, and certainly to stay out of the litter boxes (it's hard to be a puppy). If you’re looking for a through and through boxer gal to add to your life please consider me.
