Tessa's foster mom writes: "I don't think sweet even comes close to what this dog is; she's so much more! Originally Tessa was a bit of a puzzle to us. As an older girl, living largely alone with her son, she was nervous upon entry into her foster home. When her nerves didn't cease, a transfer was made to a multi-dog and person home where her wonderful personality really started to blossom. Because of this, we are looking for a busy household for Tessa; somewhere that has multiple dogs and people home with her and at least some of them around throughout the day. Tessa will do anything to be with people. She's very very affectionate and loving. She automatically puts her head down to bury it into your thigh as she does the Boxer lean. She prances like a deer when you come home and when you lightly scratch the top of her head, she purrs like a cat. She LOVES to snuggle. She is fantastic with kids of all ages, super with every other dog, and I couldn't make up something bad about her!

At bed time she is fine sleeping on her own bed on the main floor. She has recently discovered the couch and she is quite happy to spend the majority of her day there or following you around for pets. Tessa is quite smart and has learned to open sliding and levered handled doors and open baby gates. Luckily, as long as she has her calming influences (her people or dogs) she is perfectly content to stay where she is.

She is a perfect lady in a car. Sits quietly (unless a dog is on the street) and looks out the window. She comes very well when called and walks behind or beside you when on walks.

The vet did say her vision wasn't the best (she would probably need reading glasses and shouldn't drive at night) but she is very fit and agile for a senior gal.

All Tessa wants in life is a family to devote herself too. Why not have it be yours!
