 Gussie
Adopted August 2002 - February
5, 2008
Gussie was more than just a
pet to our family. She was pure love from the minute we met. She was a
member of our family. We picked her up at a rest stop on the 401 from
her foster family. She got out of their car and jumped in the back seat
of our van like she new she was finally going home, forever. We didn’t
know much about her life before us, and we took a chance not knowing.
But when I saw her eyes in the picture posted on the rescue website, I
new she had a heart larger than life. I was right. Gussie taught us what
unconditional love was. She was so playful and loving with everyone. She
loved her Poppa. When he came, no matter how much she loved us, she was
in heaven when he visited. In the week before she passed away she has
a bad night and I never left her side the whole night. She got up the
next day like nothing had happened; she was her old self and gave us a
wonderful week of love and kisses. We loved her with all of our hearts,
and she loved her “kids” and I know she would have given her
life for any one of ours. Our house was so quiet after she was gone. I
miss her everyday, every minute. I miss her not being at the top of the
stairs when I come home work wiggling so hard, I miss the touch of her
soft ears and her wet lips. I miss her snoring at the side of my bed at
night.
Gussie you will always be
in my heart forever. I hope you are running like the wind with your friends
Duke, Buddy and Thunder.

you forever and we will never forget you.
I would like to thank BRO for everything, if it wasn’t for them
we never would have met and fallin’ head over heels in love.
