What's
wrong with senior dogs? If you ask Duke's new family they will
tell you that seniors are the best! Duke quickly integrated himself into
his new family and he has become the light of their life. He enjoys spending
time with his German Shepherd brother Adikus and snuggling with the children.
His new mommy is so proud of him she takes him everywhere with him and
he loves every minute of it. Way to go you good old boy!

Sammy
is one of our senior's that came into rescue with a couple of medical
problems, but when his loveable face was put on the web site, his forever
home couldn't wait to meet him. He now lives in the Toronto area with
his mom Christine, and his skin brother Josh and a kitty to chase occasionally.
Success for Sammy!
Poncho
was
dropped off by his owners at a local shelter and was confused and scared
when he came to us. He was adopted by a home who had been waiting a long
time and they cannot say enough about Poncho. He is now their "little
man" and enjoys many hugs and kisses with his new mommy. Poncho, my friend,
you were certainly worth waiting for!
Ludwig,
the
big boy, came into rescue and was promptly adopted by his foster home.
They knew a good boy when they met one! He is deaf but that hasn't stopped
him from taking over the couch, snuggling with his doggie girlfriends
and making his new parents proud by enjoying and being a favoured customer
of doggie daycare. Ludwig didn't get a great start to life but he is
sure on the right track now!
Rudy's
new mom writes:
We had the fortunate opportunity of adopting Rudy, a beautiful 6 year old male fawn into our family in July and what a blessing for all it has turned out to be. He got along with our 18 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound (another blessing from a foster home) from the get go. I was asked when I was doing my phone interview if we would take a dog that was deaf, which they said Rudy was. But let me tell you, Rudy certainly knows when he is being called for dinner!!! He also loves the long walks we go on and sleeping in the sun. Rudy became an immediate member of the family and has since secured his spot on the sofa. I would like to take this time to thank Boxer Rescue for allowing our family the opportunity to give Rudy a home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by a loving family.
Kayla's
new family writes:
We adopted Kayla on July 20, 2002 and she is a terrific dog!! She was great with the kids and listened so well right from the start. She had no trouble fitting into our family from the very first .... it was summer so the kids were with her all day.
Problems started when she had to be alone for several hours when school started. But with our patience, hard work and a little planning, everything worked out VERY well!! Today Kayla is much better about being alone in the house and things could not be better! She lives with two adults and three children (who adore her and vice versa!) in Stevensville. She has a huge backyard to play in and lots of places to go for walks. Her 'human' brothers and sister have nicknamed her "Kayla wayla" and keep her busy playing fetch and teaching her new tricks. She has just about completely taken over one chair in the living room .... and sometimes she sleeps in 'her' chair sitting up (see picture attached).
She is a beautiful, sensitive, loving dog and we all love her alot!! Thank you very much Boxer Rescue for bringing Kayla into our lives!!

Our
poor Diva was in foster for a long time before finding a perfect
home for her. She now gets all the attention and lots of walks and has
started in obedience classes - which the puppy in her needs. Good for
you Diva!
