Marley came to us frightened and abused and as if that wasn't enough was recently diagnosed with cancer. A wonderful family fell in love with her sweet little face and Marley is now living the life she truly deserves.

Marley has personality plus and certainly rules the roost. She loves to go for a ride in the car and for walks and when she decides it's time to go she will go and nudge her leash. She also goes for regular trips to the pet store and gets to pick her own toys.

Her new family loves her to bits and is really happy she has come to live with them. They cannot believe the joy and happiness she has brought to their lives!

Ruby

Hi! My name is Ruby and I have found a new home that I love. I'm 2.5 years old and I was adopted through Boxer Rescue Ontario. My new mom has introduced me to all kinds of new friends (2-legged and 4-legged). My new boyfriend is a 1.5-year-old Bulldog named Winston. Thank goodness he likes older women! Buzby is a 6-year-old spaniel cross that my Mom loks after while her Mom is at work and we've become close friends. Then there's Kimber, a 1-year-old Golden Retriever who comes to stay once in a while. My Mom's pretty cool, she lets me play ball in the house when it's raining. I have all kinds of wonderful toys. I hardly ever have to be in my crate 'cuz Mom takes me everywhere she can so I use it for a toy box. Mom tells me that I was born in the area, so I truly have come home. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. Love, Ruby.

Falco's new family writes:

Along came Falco ... if there has ever been a perfect dog, he is it! We have yet to find a single thing wrong with this big loving boy. We love him! He is kind, gentle and loving with everyone. He came into our house and has made it his happy home with ease (right up onto our son's bed)! He greets everyone with "the wild wiggle bum" and has even knocked over a few guests. I think we are going to post a sign outside our door "Beware of uncontrollable wiggling". We have taught him to sit, stay sit pretty, roll over, shake left or right, down and he is the most willing student. He is "king" of the car, and gets so excited when we go for a drive. Smart as a whip and so willing to please this beautiful boy is now the baby in our home.

For those of you who are thinking about rescuing only a young dog, think again. Our Falco is 7 years young and you'd never know it. Who ever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks obviously never owned a boxer. Falco has all the playful antics of a puppy, but he has this stunning wisdom and common sense that comes with an older Boxer babe...a perfect combination!

We just love our baby boy Falco.

Lucy's (formerly Sandy) parents write:

We'd like to express our gratitude to all those who helped bring Lucy (AKA Sandy) to us. She is just awesome. Her medical issues appear to be behind us and we couldn't have wished for a more beautiful boxer. Her disposition is fantastic.

One night she woke from a sound sleep, climbed onto my lap, rested her head on my shoulder and gave me a hug. It was as if she were saying thank you. Again thank you so much Boxer Rescue and all the "angels" out there who look out for these dogs until they get to their forever homes. We are all blessed to have them in our lives.

Alice's new mom writes:

What more can we say to the people at Boxer Rescue Ontario other than THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Alice came into our lives a few weeks ago as a foster. Like most people, we were waiting for a younger dog. However, within a day we were in love! It was decided that she would stay. Sweet, playful, loyal and smart are just a few of her attributes. Alice's puppy like exuberance and joy of life always brings smiles to everyone around her. Even the cat, Toby, is happy to have a new friend. It's hard to believe that this perfect girl came into Boxer Rescue. Well, she's living the high life now - trips to the park, play dates with all her new nieces and nephew, and a bed right beside her new Mom.

Our new addition is 8 years old. She has the sensibilities and intelligence of an older dog but still has the heart of a puppy! Perfect combination. For all of those unsure about adopting a senior, please reconsider. They are truly a gift.

When Tiger (formerly Rajah) came to Boxer Rescue Ontario, he had been bounced around from a shelter to a home and to a shelter again. We aren't sure why as he is incredibly sweet and lovable. Who couldn't fall in love with that adorable face. He has finally found his forever home with one of our volunteers and her family, which includes 3 children who absolutely adore him, and a female Boxer named Nash, who was also adopted from BRO. He and Nash have made fast friends. They enjoy snuggles and plenty of play sessions. His new family cannot understand why this wonderful boy had been unwanted, but are thrilled to have found him.

Rocky came to us as an owner surrender, he wasn't getting along with the family cats. He now lives in Hamilton, where he is Top Dog ... none of those pesky kitties to bother him, and 5 people to spoil him rotten! Lucky Boy!

From Clyde's New Family:

Clyde came to visit us on March 9th and he decided to make our home his forever home. He was introduced to our female Kailee (a rescue we adopted in Oct. 2000 ) and they hit it off immediatly. We knew the decision was up to the two furbabies not us, and they both decided this was a comfy matchup. Clyde is a devoted, loyal boy with tons of mischevious character which we love. He amazes us with all of his problem solving skills.

Clyde does have some minor separation issues which we are working on, but other than that he is just a sweet love bug. It is hard to remember life without Clyde, as he has added that extra bounce of life to our home.

Clyde enjoys the family times down at the lakeshore, he loves to snuggle on the sofa with all of us watching a movie or hockey game and he loves to play "Where's your feet" when we go to bed. He has been accepted by the canine friends that Kailee has played with over the years, Clyde tending to attach himself to the one dog in the group that is a bit timid. Clyde also LOVES the homemade dog biscuits that I make for them.

Clyde turns 2 yrs of age this June, and we can hardly wait to celebrate his day with him. It will be a celebration of his birthday and new life but more than that a Celebration of Thanks to Boxer Rescue Ontario for helping Clyde make his journey into our home and lives.

Thank you Boxer Rescue Ontario.

Titan has found a new home but still needs your help!

"Until there are none, rescue one." This motto could have been written for Titan. We often say that our rescue dogs come to us for a reason. Titan is one of those dogs and this is his story.

We guess his age to be 5-7 years. He's a beautiful fawn boy with with the softest face and lovely trusting eyes. When he looks at you, your heart will melt. He has a wonderful temperament. In fact, we can't say enough about his personality; he is just a very very good boy.

We don't know Titan's story. We found him in a shelter. Was he an unwanted stray? Was he dumped there by his family? We simply don't know. We do know that we couldn't leave this sweet guy to die unloved. We took him home, made plans to fatten him up and provide some much needed affection and attention. However, once we got him home we discovered, sadly, that he is infected with heartworm. Heartworm is a serious and ultimately fatal condition if left untreated. The condition can often be treated but the treatment is lengthy, difficult and expensive.

Titan needs your thoughts and prayers. And if you can assist with a small monetary donation towards his care we would be most grateful. You can be assured that any donations we receive will go directly to Titan's care during his treatment and rehabilitation period.

When Titan licked our hands we felt it in our hearts. Your donation will help this gentle boy find his way to happiness and health. Give him the chance he needs today. Please.
