Hello, my name is Portia (known in my previous life as Duchess). I am quite settled with my rescued elderly humans ( in dog years they are over 400years old - quite the antiques). They take me for lovely outings to the leash-free park where I have to keep going back to see that they are still moving along! I am doing my best to train them about dogs on the sofa but they seem to have this funny tough love approach to dogs, but I have not yet given up hope. I think this is a huge improvement on my life in Ohio, I just hope I am not classified as an illegal immigrant!

Lucky

Well, how d'ya like them apples! Lucky here to write my "success story"; two month's ago I was starving, on the road, and now I'm living the high life! Pictures don't lie - you can see I was in pretty bad shape and I can't even remember how I got that way. Can't believe it was humans, 'cos since they picked me up it's been great! Man those guys at BRO have really got it together! Sue and her family were lifesavers to me (that's their feet in the pictures!) I'm up to 60lbs plus now and all my wounds are healing.

Now Barb, (she's like my parole officer) arranged to have me adopted and it took a few tries; some people thought I was too big (Hello? -I'm a Boxer!) Some people didn’t like the fact that I give big wet sloppy kisses (Hello?-I'm a Boxer!) Do you wanna talk flatulence?

Anyway, 2 months ago I'm a street fighting dog and now I'm living with Ozzie & Harriet! Actually they're a pretty cool couple with definite possibilities, even got me a dog walker! They just lost their first boxer, Mookie, and said they would never get another dog (yeah-sure). So everything's pretty much in place and the house rules are set

  1. Yes, they can share the bed, when I'm not using it. (Hey Bear, I hear what you're saying bro')
  2. The couch sits three but I'm more comfortable with two.
  3. And I get fed first!
Of course there are cons too - Getting to know all the kooky neighbours and their weird dogs. Being taken to nursing homes for "pet therapy" (is this supposed to make me feel better?), trips to the supermarket and the mall.

I guess I better go now, time to eat! My favourite times of the day!

Big wet kisses to Sue, Stacey and all at BRO and thanks for all the prayers and good wishes! Updated Pictures!
