![]() Anyway, I love my new home. I love my new brother, Riley, and of course, my skin sisters and new mom and dad. When I came to live with my foster mom and dad, they said that I had separation anxiety. I didn't do well left alone. I was very destructive and would get quite anxious and upset and spend any time left alone barking. Well, as soon as I spent a couple of days at my new home, my foster brother, Riley, made me realize that as long as I was with HIM, I wasn't alone. Now when my mom and dad have to go out, I am completely comfy sprawled out on the couch with my brother. In case, you haven't figured it out yet, my foster mom and dad couldn't part with me so they adopted me themselves. I guess it was my "cuddly" ways that won them over…okay maybe also the fact that I am the spittin' image of my brother Riley (only a smaller version). Can you guess which one I am??? ![]() Sorry that I've been so long in writing to all of you, but I've been very busy. Between trips to the park for a quick game of Frisbee, or a trip to the cottage on the weekend, who's got time to write to all their friends? My new home is great. Mom and Dad always have lots to eat. They tell me I've gained about 10 pounds since I moved in with them, which is ok, 'cause I always felt that I needed to bulk up a bit. Some of my favorite times are just lounging on the couch, cuddling with Mom and watching TV. I've even learned to watch hockey with Dad. I don't know about you, but I love those Senator guys!!! I can't wait to go to the parade when they win the Cup. After I'd been living here for a little while, Mom and Dad took what they call a vacation. I think they felt kind of bad leaving me, because they asked their friend to come and stay with me at the house, so I wouldn't have to move again. She was really nice, and since she's a teacher, she was home with me all day. I was so busy showing her around the neighborhood and what TV shows I like to watch, it didn't seem like my parents were gone at all. When they got back, they started me in school. I always knew that I was smart, but I guess they needed a piece of paper to tell them that. We went once a week for about 2 months, and then we had the big test. I passed with flying colours I might add (was there ever any doubt.) Now, their talking about Advanced Obedience school, which must be for gifted dogs like me. The summer has been even better, since I've now got a cottage that I can go spend time at. My cousin Jessie the Lab is up there. She recently taught me to go swimming. I'm still not too sure about the water, so I don't go in over my head, but maybe with a little practice……. One last piece of advice to all my friends at BRO: when you guys get to your forever home…get to know the guy who brings the paper. That way, you won't break any windows trying to protect the house like I did. Oops! Perry (adopted January 24, 2004) |
