Hi everybody. Duke here. Not many of you got to know me because I came into rescue and was immediately placed with my forever home. Boy did I luck out. At first I thought it was just going to be another foster home where they would keep me and of course love me and care for me, but then I would be moving on again to another forever home. You see last time that didn't work out that well for me so I was a little bit worried. And now that I am getting up there in years (10 years young), I wasn't sure that my spirit could handle another move. So when mom was asked to keep me permanently, I was thrilled when she said yes. It didn't take me long to settle in. I just showed her how adorable us senior dogs can be, well trained and how we aim to please, and she was roped in for good. The added bonus is that she has a good friend who decided he wanted to be my dad. He is a great guy and we have a lot of fun together. A little strange as both mom and dad live in different homes, but if you ask me I now have the best of both worlds. I have 2 sets of toys, beds and food dishes. If one of them goes out I get to stay with the other one. If mom gets mad at me for eating a pack of gum (a little trick I've learned), I can always count on dad to suck up to. I have sure figured out who the push over is out of the two:) Dad and I have fun watching the hockey games together and doing typical `guy' stuff while mom and I get to hang out and cuddle together. This is the life let me tell you. I do feel bad that it means they can't foster another brother or sister boxer for now, but I'm happy that I get to stay here and live out the rest of my life in peace and quiet with two people that love me very much. Thank you very much to boxer rescue for taking me back in again. Even though I may be full of grey now, I still have a lot of life left in me. Thank you for recognizing that. Without you guys, us seniors would have no chance at all.

Hello Everyone. My name is Jasmine, and I am 9 years young. My new mom calls me "experienced".

I came to live here in my "forever home" while my new skin brothers were on their March break and mom was on vacation from work. Unfortunately, dad had to go to work. Hey somebody’s gotta pay for all my new goodies!!! My new skin brothers slept on the floor with me all week so I wouldn’t be scared or nervous in my new place and on my new pillow-bed. I am so lucky, mom and the boys took me out shopping on my first day here, yup, shopping!! I got to pick out my new dishes and new treats, and new neckerchief. Mom said "It’s never too late to teach a girl how to shop". Mom & Dad were told that I had been crated, so they bought me a brand new one. That lasted all of about 10 minutes on Monday morning after mom and the boys left for work/school and dad was still in charge at home. Mom called to see how I was doing in there, and dad said that I had been whining and crying since she left. They both caved and I got my freedom. I must have proved myself because I haven’t been in it since. I have made a few "messes" but my brothers have cleaned it all up, so mom wouldn’t see. Although I do not like to be alone for too long, I am not as anxious as I was at first, because I know that everyone will be coming home soon.

I am just a little bit spoiled. I get to sit and to sleep wherever I want!! My family takes me everywhere. We go to the beach for dinner and a walk, we go to the grocery store, we go to visit Grandma, and all the boys take me out for walks. Mom says that all this exercise has helped me to shed some of those extra pounds I packed on before being rescued, and the fur on my back seems to be growing back. My Boxer wiggles, the kidney bean dances, and my big, sloppy, wet kisses give my family a chuckle. They love me very much, and I love living here! THANK YOU BRO for matching me with these people. I would like to give a big thank you to Melody for fostering me and encouraging me. I miss Tony and Sophia.

This is from my mom & dad, I told mom to make it short and sweet because she could go on forever bragging about me:

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank BRO for allowing us to adopt Jasmine and being able to give her a home where she can spend her "Golden Years" surrounded by a very loving and caring family. May we also encourage anyone out there to adopt an "experienced" dog. We did and we love her!"

Dear Everybody,

I am doing great! I love my new home, my new parents & my new boxer sister, Briar. We have all decided to change my name to Bentley (from Diablo). I learned my new name very quickly and my parents were so proud of me. Every morning when I wake up, I can't wait to start playing with Briar. We take naps together in between play time and eating. Mom and Dad enjoy watching us play together. They laugh at us a lot. How lucky am I; Eat, Sleep and Play. This is the life! Most nights we all squish ourselves on the couch together and rest. We exchange kisses and hugs. It is so comforting to me. I now have a fenced in backyard where I go to do my vocal exercises. Mom and Dad stop that in a hurry. They say that other people do not want to listen to me bark. I think that I sound pretty good and the other dogs in the neighbourhood must too because they usually join right in. When I look around my new home I know that things will be great in the future now that I have a family again.

Slobbers & Hugs,
Bentley

Hello everyone. My name is Joe and I moved into my forever home in late February. I'm extremely happy in my new home and have made quite an impression on my new dad. I quickly went from sleeping on my dog bed to sleeping on the bed next to him. When the alarm clock goes off, I'm guilty of sleeping in another 10 minutes. Every day, we go for two walks and I'm really enjoying the backyard. Even the neighbours on both sides have taken to me. Surprised? I know I'm not.

I'm eating two meals a day with many, many treats in between. Family and friends that visit us have even brought me gifts. Keep them coming is what I say! As for my aggression towards dogs, well let's just say I'm doing a whole lot better. Dad has spent time introducing me to my canine friends on the street and although they don't look as good as me, I still make an attempt to get along with them. As for the cat across the street, he's another story!

I would like to sincerely thank the entire BRO team for introducing me to my dad. From what he says, they're a very dedicated bunch. And, I have to agree. Thanks again BRO, and be sure to look for me in the park!
