Gabriel

Hi Foster Mom!

It's me, Gabe! I am just writing to let you know that I arrived in my new home safe and sound. My car ride here was kind of fun. First, Kathy, Jan's sister got lost, but that was Ok because we had to stop at a place called Tim Hortons to get directions. Did you know that they make great Tim bits there...had a few! Once back on the road it only took us a few minutes to connect with the QEW and we were on our way.

You would have been very proud of me! I found a soft and fluffy blanket in the back seat so I took full advantage of it. I jumped all over; rolled it in to a big ball, jumped on it some more and then decided that it was a fine place to have a nap. (I did not shred it)

Tia, my new sister decided that I must be OK because half way into the trip she came into the back with me and curled up on her blanket. Slowly I
inched towards her and I was able to lay my head on her blanket.

Somewhere around a place called Woodstock I decided that I should jump into the front seat...so I did, but don't worry my new Mom was on the ball...I sense that this might have happened before. Rather than scooting me back to the back, she allowed me to curl up on her lap. (When Kathy comes home I will have her send a picture.) I slept all the way home.

I now live in an apartment building...it is kind of neat as you have to go on an elevator to get to my floor. I like the elevator especially when it
dings. You have to get off the elevator pretty fast or the door closes on your but!

I was so excited that I hardly slept a wink all night...I kept the everybody up! Everytime they would go to sleep, I would wash their faces. Mom, got
even with me...she took me for a walk at 3:30 a.m........I think, that tonight I will sleep.

Today, Mom gave me a coat. She said that it belonged to Dayle. It was so nice and warm. So warm in fact that I walk for a long time. When I came
home, I met Sherry. Sherry is the building manager. She gave me a cookie and told me that I must be very special to have Dayle's coat! She said that I had big shoes to fill. That made me proud because I know now for sure that my Mom and Kathy are going to care for me and teach me all the things I need to know!

The first thing I need to learn is that I cannot run after Tia and catch her by the tail...I just want to play....I need to remind myself that she is
little and that I am a big boy! I

Well, Foster Mom, I have to go! The rule around here is if you want to eat dinner you have to help cook it. We are making chicken, brown rice and
mixed vegetables. I am getting something called Jello for dessert. My mom says that jello and I have something in common...I guess I will have to wait and see.

Ok, thats it for now....give Nick and the little dog a big hug for me! Tell them I will send lots of cookies....If I forgot to say thanks...thanks for
taking such good care of me!

Bye for now!
Gabe

Benny

Hello Boxer Rescue,

On Sun.Jan.20/07 the lives of the Wong Family changed. We welcomed a 65 lb male boxer into our home. Benny has been with us for approximately 5 weeks.

We had a boxer about 2 years ago but had to put her down at 8yrs of age. That was a very difficult time. We were ready for another and contacted Boxer Rescue who were very helpful and felt that Benny was our soulmate. They could not have been any more accurate. The big brute is one big suck as we have decorated our living room with dog toys. His step sister, Ruby who is a Jack Russell Terrier has accepted him and they are always together. When Benny tries to control Ruby, she lets him have it with a little snarl which he obeys. We call the two Jack and the Box(er). Benny loves to play as he brings his toys to us and lets us know that he is in a playful mood with his deep bark. I take him down to the neighbourhood park where there is a fenced in area. He loves to run and jump. He can jump approximately 4 feet. The fence here is 20feet so I am lucky. He is always talking to us. We are starting to understand each other. He has attended obedience school for the past 4 weeks and does very well one on one. He wants to play with every dog there (6 others) so I have to keep a tight hold on the leash. He is such a snuggler when he cuddles up to you. My two daughters love him very much as he sinks himself into them when he lies on our couch. The two dogs sleep side by side when possible but Benny has his own bed.

Thank you Boxer Rescue for providing our family a bundle of joy and for providing assistance when
we had questions. Benny will never be cold, alone or hungry again.

Yours Truly,

Garland, Jennifer, Emily and Ellen Wong
